Galloping (animation)
Technique: Galloping is a hand drawn animation. The drawings are based on photograper Eadweard Muybridge (1830–1904) photographs. Initially rotoscoped (traced) onto paper from a very small animated gif, then inked over with brush and ink.
The loop to morph run-cycle is something I’d thought about working on for a while. However the actual animation was commissioned by Peter Fay for the exhibition Bloodlines: Art and the Horse held at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery in 2007, and toured regional galleries in Australia the following year.
The animation was designed to be exhibited in a gallery on a continual loop.
